I'm seriously considering beginning the Master of Education in Administration and Supervision program at Southern Wesleyan University. Yep. How is that for something new! :)
This program is brand new to SWU. I currently have a Master of Education degree from the same school, and I really enjoyed that program when I went through it over 3 years ago.
The first cohort begins in less than a month (March 7th) and the program takes about 2 years to complete. The best part is that you only go to class one night a week (from 5-9 p.m.) and I can do all of the internships at my own school while I am teaching.
Because this would be my second Master's degree I will be on a new pay scale after completely the program because I will have earned my Master's plus 30 (unless the legislature changes this, and that is a distinct possibility). Obviously, the other big plus to this would be that I would also be certified to be an administrator!
The bad things about beginning the program... time, money, and the uncertainty of what the future holds for education in South Carolina. Hmm... I just don't know what to do.
