Some Beach Photos

Right after we arrived, hanging out with Daddy!

First thing in the morning is playtime!

Grayson had to go on a walk to wind down enough to take a nap.

Front Row TV seat with Cheetos.... life is great.

Playing at the beach!

Using the shovel!

He LOVED playing with the beach toys! The green bucket was full of water and he liked to wash his hands off every time they got covered in sand.

Still playing!!

Daddy put out his baby pool and filled it with ocean water! Grayson loved this too!

Kindermusik Class #3

We had a great time at Kindermusik yesterday! Grayson is enjoying his time with the other babies and I am enjoying my time with the mommies of babies around Grayson's age.

Grayson was AMAZED that there were little bitty babies... the little girl beside him is 14 weeks old!

Fun!

I really don't know.

Mid-Blink Grayson

Grayson decided to stick near the bin of shakers. He wanted to make sure that the other kids didn't get something out of the bin without his approval.

I think we were supposed to be actually participating, but Grayson was still guarding that bin!

Jason and the REALLY HOT hot sauce

When I cook meals that don't include any kind of extra special spicy sauce, Jason has to add it.

Tonight he tested his luck on one of the special extra hot sauces that Grayson gave him for Father's Day.

Here are pictures from the festivities:

After the first bite of hot sauce....

YAY!! I found hot sauce that was too hot for Jason!!

Lunch with the Upstate Girls :)

Grayson and I met Mel, Stef, Stephanie D., and Perrin for lunch this afternoon! We had a really good time and can't wait to do it again. It reminded me of all of those lunches with had together in high school... except CRAZIER!!!

Unfortunately, keeping up with my active little boy meant that I didn't get pictures of everyone (namely Stef and Stephanie) BUT, I can promise they were there!! :)

Grayson and Mel

Grayson was so excited to see Perrin and Miss Stephanie!! He gets to spend so much time with them during the school year, and now that it is summer, he has been stuck at home with Mommy! It made my heart so happy to see how much he loves Perrin!!

NOW-- this is why taking photos of two VERY precious boys is easier said than done:

Perrin looks perfect, Grayson WAS ready to look good... but then decided the lights were pretty neat.

GRAYSON-- quit eating those Gerber Cheetos!! :)

Don't We Look Cute, Mom??

Don't We Look Cute, Mom???

I asked my little boys to pose for a picture on Thursday. Gordo obliged, but you can see that Grayson is up to a little mischief.

Something Random

When I was in the hospital WAY back in September for the birth of Grayson, I had to constantly give the nurses a rating of the pain I was in at the time from 1-10. Some rooms even included a little chart to help you decide.

This blog poster shares my belief that the current pain-scale chart is not adequate. Reading this post made me laugh... a lot. You should read it... BUT, be prepared... it has some bad words. :)

Oh MY... look how you've grown!!!

Grayson and I thought it would be fun to try out his swing again. Here is a picture of him when he was less than a month old in his swing:

And here is my big boy today... just nine months later!! He looks so funny in that baby swing!!

The last few days:

Friday:

Grayson and I traveled with my Dad, Kaci and the drum majors to USC so that the drum majors could attend a leadership workshop. The rest of us sat outside and talked!! We had a good time. Then we went to the mall for lunch and Dad may or may not have gotten Grayson an ice cream for dessert!

Kaci and Grayson at USC

When we got home there was a big box outside the door! Once I emptied it, a little boy named Grayson got to sit inside and use it as a clubhouse. He loved it!

Saturday:

Saturday morning we woke up and went to our 2nd Kindermusik class! It was so much fun, but it was also very hectic. There were several more babies and lots of mommies, daddies and grandmas!! It was truly a workout! When we left Kindermusik I noticed that Krispy Kreme's "Hot and Now" sign was on... I couldn't help but get a few doughnuts and a coffee!!

Since Jason was working this past weekend, we spent most of the day with my Mom and Dad. We went to Sam's Club, Fuddruckers, Grandma's rental house, and Grandma's house. When we got to Grandma's house, Aunt Bobbie and Grandma introduced Grayson to bubbles. He loved them until they popped on his skin... then he was scared!!

Then... for the 2nd day in a row... Grayson may or may not have had some ice cream!!

Sunday:

Father's Day... we celebrated by visiting my Dad and then cooking dinner for Jason when he got home from work. My previous post shows one of Grayson's gifts to his Daddy. He also got him a gift set of five of the hottest hot sauces in the world.

Monday:

LAZY DAY at home

Tuesday:

We went out to eat lunch and then we went to Old Navy to pick up a white shirt for Grayson. We're planning on getting some professional pictures made on the beach next week, and we're all wearing white and khaki. Here is Grayson modeling his new shirt:

I feel so much better now.

It's hard to describe how much better I have been feeling lately. I can't even remember the last time I've felt this good...

The past year and a half have been really tough for me. It has been an incredibly rewarding year time, and I wouldn't change a thing... but it has also been tough. Tough on my body, my mind, my spirit. After Grayson was born I felt a HUGE responsibility to give him the best life possible. Unfortunately, that means sometimes I feel a little crazy.

Anyway, summer is doing what summer is supposed to do. It is repairing my body, my mind, and my spirit. I am glad. I feel a huge relief. I thought I was crazy.... Maybe I was just tired. :)

My YARD is finally starting to look like something. The yard is another thing that has had a tough year and a half. Now that I feel better, my yard is looking better. ( OR maybe the yard made me feel better, I don't know.)

New Flowers

New Mulch... now hopefully I can get that bush to come back to life!!

SEE?!?! It is a little bit better!!

NOW--- On a completely different note.

My baby has a mind of his own. I'm reading a new book "The Happiest Toddler on the Block". This book compares toddlers to little cavemen... and I kind of think this guy has a point. Look what I caught Grayson getting into this evening:

AND for the sweet pictures....

We are so lucky!!!

We had another wonderful visitor today.... KACI!!!!

We can't wait to meet your new little one very soon!!!

Lunch with Stefanie

Look who came over to go to lunch with us today:

STEFANIE!!!

Grayson has started to really enjoy standing to play with his toys.
Here are some cute pictures I took today:

Sometimes You Just Have to Ask

About this time last year I purchased this glider and ottoman for Grayson's bedroom:

I LOVE this glider. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago it began to squeak, rock from side to side and the mechanical parts would scratch together when you tried to use it as a glider. Obviously something wasn't right.

Jason looked at it and tried to fix it, but he could tell that some of the parts have warped. YALL... I'm not THAT heavy!!! :)

Anyway, I've been stressing over what to do about this glider. A couple of weeks ago my Mom suggested that I contact the company I bought it from: www.healthchecksystems.com. Yesterday I decided to do just that. I tried my best to write a very nice email and a couple of minutes later I received this back:

"Thank you for your e-mail. We can have another glider sent to you under warranty, please confirm your shipping address."

YAY!!! They said I should be receiving my new glider in 5-8 business days!! I had no idea these things were under warranty, and I certainly didn't think it would be that easy to get this problem remedied!!

Lesson Learned: Sometimes you just have to ask!!!

Kindermusik

Today we went to our very first Kindermusik class! Grayson is in the "Peekaboo! I Love You!" class. His particular class is made up of babies from 12 weeks to 14 months!! We had so much fun!

At first, Grayson was a little shy, but he warmed up quickly. He met the other babies, played with all of the toys and instruments, and even tried to sit in another mommy's lap!! We sang songs, danced, gave Grayson a massage... it was a blast!!

Getting ready for the next activity

Listening so carefully to the teacher!

Sharing Daddy's idea that maybe scarves aren't "manly" enough...
