Oh Bloggity, Blog

When did I leave you... Oh, I know. I left you when things got really crazy with work.

Long story short.

Last week we finished school. I got a TON of work completed and I couldn't be happier to be done... kind of....  I still have about 15 hours left to finish of my administrative practicum between now and July 11th. I think I can do it.

So, cute pictures?!? Here they are!!

Grayson wearing Mommy's "house socks".
Grayster got his first skinned knee on Sunday. I think he loves it. He keeps pointing at it and saying, "My Boo-Boo".

My Dad, Grayson's Papa, made Grayson a sandbox, just like the one he made me when I was a little girl. I suggested it go in the one place in our yard that doesn't grow grass. Sandbox and no grass problem complete.

The next photos come from Grayson's time in the baby pool tonight. Cuteness overload.

This is what happened when Jason decided to spray Grayson with the cold water.

He LOVED it!!

Now that school is out, expect lots of blog posts. Check back frequently. Comment often... comments are fun!! :)

Stephanie's Movie

Can I post something that doesn't really belong to me??!! My friend Stephanie got married a few weeks ago. She had the most amazing videographers. They just released a preview of their work, and I have to tell you... it is absolutely breathtaking.

Anyway... it will absolutely put you in the mood for wedding season. Enjoy!

First Swim of the Season

Grayson and Jason braved the not-all-that-warm waters yesterday and got in the pool at JuJu and PawPaw's house! They didn't stay in too long, but both boys had a good time!

It involves this little boy, and lots of time outside!

I can't wait!!

Show us how you really feel, Grayster!

If I had $2,000...

Tonight, the Jason said he wished he had $2,000 so he could purchase some kind of gun that he "HAS" to have. I laughed. I would LOVE to have $2,000 more than we have right now... I'd put it right in savings and leave it there.

BUT-- if I had $2,000 to just spend... I'd probably purchase some awesome things for my camera:

1) Canon 50 mm/ f 1.8- $129. I really want this lens. As soon as I learned a little about photography I decided that I liked wide apertures... this lens is great, fairly inexpensive, and the reviews are fantastic. Every photography board I've visited says this is a must have. So there.  (Edit-- Finally got this lens and I LOVE it!!)

2) Canon Speedlite 430 EX II $304. I do not like the flash on my camera. I despise it. I don't take a lot of pictures indoors, because I do not want to look at pictures that use my flash. There are a lot of reasons. The main one is this... the flashes on most entry level DSLRs are cheapo and just a little better than the flash on your point and shoot. The pictures they produce are blah... I'm not that into blah. Edit: I didn't get the Canon Speedlite, but I have an off-brand that produces some nice images. A few months after purchasing this item, I will say that it has improved my photography as much as anything else has... a great flash is a must have accessory.

3) Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 $500. I need this lens, too. BUT this one will be great for portraits. Amateur photographers on the message boards I visit cannot say enough about how great this lens is... so, I want it!

4) Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 $600. This lens is great because it can almost do what both of my current lenses can do (all in one package). Close ups all the way to really wide angle shots, this one can do it all. SO, this one would be perfect for trips... no changing of lenses necessary!

5) Lola Camera Bag- $165. I think I need a cute camera bag. This one fits the bill.

6) Camera Strap w/ lens cover pocket - $25- Not necessarily this one... just something cool looking with a lens cover pocket because I always lose mine and a pocket could help (maybe). Edit: I purchased one from Mallard Cove Designs on Facebook. So cute!

7) Jarrad Lister- Photography Street School Class - $300- This is a class in our area that gets incredible reviews. The photographer is a hometown guy, so that makes it even cooler.

There you go... grand total, $2,023.00. MUCH cooler than a gun. Haha!

New Slide

Our local Toys R Us is moving, so they are trying to sell everything! A friend told me that we needed to go and check out the deals, so yesterday, Grayson and I went to see what they had!

I've been wanting to get him a slide to use this summer, and we found one for a really good price. Grayson was so excited to use his new toy!

Backyard Football

Wednesday afternoon, Jason and Grayson went outside to play some football.... well, kind of play football.

They had a really good time, and I decided to take some pictures. Unfortunately, I have put off cleaning my camera lens for far too long, and now I have smudgy pictures. Yuck.

Anyway, enjoy some cute, smudgy pictures... and a short video clip, too!!

Mother's Day 2011

Today was a wonderful day!

We spent the day relaxing at home, eating lunch at Mom and Dad's house, and just enjoying each other's company. It made for a nice day after a REALLY busy week.

This afternoon, I decided to let Grayson splash around in his kiddie pool in the backyard. I didn't even put him in a swim diaper... we just played!! Enjoy the pictures of his fun!

And one cute Grayster story for Mother's Day.

Tonight I was singing one of our favorite songs, "Love Somebody, Yes I do". Grayson began saying "Love some bobby, I do". It was too cute!!
