Happy Tears

Okay, okay... I'll admit it.

Grayson made me cry today.

TWICE.

1) Mom has been working with Grayson to try to get him to wave bye-bye. Yesterday she sent me an email at work about how he waved bye to my dad and then to her when she left him with Miss Stephanie. I didn't really believe that he could do it. Miss Stephanie confirmed Mom's story... but I just had to see it to believe it!

This morning he waved bye-bye to me. I cried all the way to work. I can't believe he is old enough to wave!!! He is learning so much, so fast... it caught me by surprise! I'm so proud of him!

2) Grayson is a great sleeper and usually I just have to put him in his bed at bedtime and he goes right to sleep. Tonight he needed to be rocked to sleep. As I rocked my little boy, the tears came to my eyes. I love that little guy!!

A Learning Experience....

This is what happens when I pay a little too close attention to Oprah and not quite enough attention on my little boy who is playing on the floor.

It's Kiddie Pool Time!!

Cousin Will sent Grayson his leftover swimmer diapers and kiddie pool so we decided to give them a try late Sunday afternoon. Grayson LOVES his pool!!! I couldn't keep him seated, he insisted on crawling around in the water! We'll definitely be doing this a lot this summer!

Gerber Baby... I mean, Grayson!!

What do you think??

8 Month Grayson Photos

My 8-month Grayson photos didn't go over so well... mostly because the whole time his attitude was exactly what the camera captured for the first photo:

However, I did manage to get a couple of good ones from him:

Sick Jason, Water Baby Grayson, and Mischief

Jason is sick. I feel terrible for him... mostly I feel bad that I didn't make him go to the doctor last week. He has been coughing for a while, but I didn't think anything of it and he absolutely has not been complaining at all. On Sunday he said he wanted to clear up the chest congestion that he had so I went out and bought Mucinex. That didn't help. Today he went to the doctor. A breathing treatment and chest x-ray later, we've discovered that he has pneumonia. Anyway... he had to get a shot and 4 prescriptions. Hopefully he'll get better quickly, if not... well... it just isn't a good situation...

Grayson went swimming for the very first time on Sunday!! I forgot to bring my camera (AGAIN), but he had a great time in JuJu's pool. Maybe I can talk JuJu into letting me steal some of her photos!

The following pictures are of some mischief that Grayson got into Sunday morning... I learned to NEVER leave the refrigerator door open... even if just for a second...

Really Mom?? I can't have any Coke yet??

With a smile like this, I certainly deserve this last little bit of Coke.

Alright, alright... no Coke. Do you like my new shoes??

Random Pictures

I haven't been good about posting pictures lately.... mostly because I couldn't find the cable I needed to upload them from my camera to my computer. I found it a few minutes ago. Here are some pictures of our life the past few weeks:

How can you resist this chubby boy!!

The exersaucer is a almost a thing of the past... now we LOVE this walker!

Two sweet boys!

"You keep the puffs IN the bowl, Grayson!"

What a pitiful baby... feeding himself his bottle while Gordo gives him some kisses.

This is what happens when I leave Grayson alone for more than a few seconds.

Grayson and Aunt Kelsey!

Mother's Day 2010

I read somewhere that Mother's Day is also about celebrating the child. I couldn't agree more. This Mother's Day, my mind continued to go back to the memories I have of seeing my baby boy for the first time.  I feel so blessed to be able to be Grayson's Mommy. I can hardly remember life before him. I love our little family.

Also, look at all the special things that came my way!!

Some beautiful flowers and chocolates from my Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law.

A balloon to go with the flowers... quickly taken over by Grayson. He was in shock that there could be such wonderful things as balloons. Almost a week later, he still loves playing with the balloon!

A Vera Bradley Diaper Bag from Grayson and Jason.

A special mother's ring and necklace from my Mom and Dad.

Nothing really "blog worthy"

I haven't had very much "blog worthy" news. In fact, last week was a TOUGH week....

I did learn three things:

1. Don't let ANYONE think that they know how to be a better "you" than you already are... especially people with absolutely no experience.  And DON'T be afraid to stand up for yourself.... you don't always have to take people being rude and mean.

2. Fix your air conditioning before it gets really hot.
Our upstairs air conditioner has been on its last leg for months.... we've been putting off getting it fixed, but last night ALL THREE of us were miserable. The air conditioning man is on his way though... soon we'll have sweet relief.

3. My hair was obviously beginning to look like a piece of work.
I had it cut short last Monday, and since then my students keep commenting on how much they like it. Usually something new causes a stir for about 15 minutes with them... this new cut has not worn off yet!
