Halloween 2013

Waiting on Trick-or-Treaters!

Mad because he really wanted to pass out candy, but we didn't have many trick-or-treaters on this School Night Halloween.

First Glimpse Of Our New Little One

Today was the day that we got to catch a glimpse of our new little one.

I think he/she is absolutely perfect.

The baby's heartbeat was 173 and I am 9 weeks pregnant. Our due date is April 8th.

I am just absolutely in awe of the fact that this little one is growing inside me. I feel so lucky and blessed.

April Is Going To Be BUSY!

It is strange not to post these entries... but I'm just not quite ready to tell the world about this pregnancy yet. You understand, right?

Anyway- I have taken more pregnancy tests than I can count. Ever since 8DPO they have ALL been positive. I think this is really happening!! When Jason and Grayson left to go camping on Saturday, I went to Wal-Mart to get some "real" tests (for some reason I don't trust the ones I bought off the internet for .30 each). When I got home, I tested and then sent him this photo:

Looks pretty positive, huh? Since then, I have tested two other times with a FRER (bottom test) and the  test line has continued to get darker and darker. Yesterday the control line was very light because the test line was so dark!

My mind continues to race. Most of the time I am just overjoyed. This is going to be awesome. Sometimes I'm a little worried-- April is a busy, busy month for my band students. I'm probably going to need someone to take my students to Atlanta (we go on March 29-30). I'll also need someone to conduct the spring concert, take my kids to solo and ensemble, and take my 7th graders to Carowinds. Wow. That is a BUNCH to put on a substitute's plate. So- I'm probably going to be relying on the help of the other band directors in the district. I hope they won't be too upset.

This too shall pass, and once I get a good plan in place I know I can make it work. Planning is one of my strengths (I hope).

I sure am looking forward to April though... this is going to be a fun ride.

The Test LOOKS Positive!

Jason tells me not to get too excited... "You're not just counting your chickens before they hatch. You're counting them before they are eggs!"

I can't help it. It IS a second line. I know it.

I've scoured the internet. I know what a 8DPO positive pregnancy test looks like... Just. Like. This!!!

My mind is racing. I'm thinking about our new family member and all of the hopes and dreams I have for him/her. I'm thinking about all of the things I want to do, some exactly like we did with Grayster and some different (nope, not purchasing every type of baby equipment this time, haha).

I'm trying to take a picture of this positive test, but the camera isn't as good as my eye (or his, if he'll just admit it).

Don't tell Jason this, but I'm already in love. I love this little ball of 100+ cells that are now in my body.

So, today I pray. Lord, please help this baby grow and develop.

Love My Jason

This morning my boys left this morning for a camping trip. They are only going to be gone one night, but they are really, really camping (a tent and everything!).

As I sit here enjoying my cup of coffee, I wonder how I ever got so lucky. My husband is the stuff of dreams. Seriously, I love that he loves on our little boy like this. He is such a good daddy.

Grayson is going to remember trips like this for the rest of his life. I hope that he will be able to look back on these trips and see just how much his daddy cares about him.

Now, as for my plans for the day... I think it is almost time for me to do some shopping... :)

Summer 2013

This has been an absolutely amazing summer. We have enjoyed spending so much time together. Grayson completed his first year of swimming lessons (he hated it!), we went to the movies, library, the beach(!), our community pool, the park, chick-fil-a (more times than I can count!), and lots of other places. I feel like our summers get shorter every year.

Playing Baseball with Daddy

Jason's new "project" is to teach Grayson how to play baseball. Today they had a little batting practice in the front yard while I was pulling some weeds. When I saw how cute they both looked, I took a break and pulled out my camera!! I love these two sweet guys!

Random Pictures

I am so tired tonight, but I wanted to make sure that I posted some pictures from our week. Hope you enjoy!!

Love my sweet husband. Seriously, this guy is so good to me. He even made a trip to Bi-Lo to get some cereal for a class project Grayson is doing this week. This picture is from Saturday night, we had just gotten back to my parents house. Earlier we attended Jason's police banquet.

Sweet Husband.... see what I mean?!? :)

Grayster pretending to be Doc McStuffins from Disney Junior.

We love our old doggie!!

On Monday (MLK day), we went down to Blythewood to visit Jason's dad. Here is a picture of our silly boy!!

Hours and Tricycle Riding

Wow... this week has been a heck of a long one...

I began my last class of my current master's degree program last Monday. I cannot believe that I am already at the finish line-- but I am certainly not crossing it yet. This class lasts for 12 weeks and I have so many assignments I do not even want to begin to list them. In addition to the assignments, I am responsible for shadowing my principal for 90 hours during this time. That equals out to around 7.5 hours a week... in addition to my current job.

SO- I've been spending long hours at school... long hours to get my students ready for a big audition they did on Saturday, and long hours to get this time in for my Master's program. It has been worth it, my students did exceptionally well yesterday (better than ever!), and I am learning so much through my principal.

Today was family day. We had fun together all day long and then decided to go to a nearby school to walk on the track after Grayson woke up from his nap. Grayson decided to bring his tricycle. He rode around the track 5 times.... that means he traveled 1.25 miles!!! I can't believe it. He is going to have some sore little legs tomorrow morning!!

** I would also like to add this: Grayster does not like trash. The coffee cup lid on the back of his tricycle is something he found while we were out at the track. He picked it up and drove it to the nearest trash can. ***

Pictures and Diets

Two things:

1) Today I decided to hang pictures on the wall leading up our stairs. I absolutely love them!!! We purchased this house in May 2006. For way too many years I have been so scared to actually put paint and pictures on our walls. I didn't want to do anything that would make the house more difficult to sell when we got ready to do so... well guess what... my thinking was WRONG!!!

We love this house and we aren't ready to move yet or in the near future. Why can't I make this place what I want it to be?? Once I came to that realization (this summer) I have really enjoyed making our house a home. More cool stuff to come (I hope!!)...

2) After church today, Jason and I began our annual (yuck!) dieting. My goal is to get 20 pounds off by the summer. We're watching what we eat and I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred since January 1st. After I get through 30 days of that I want to move up to her Ripped in 30 DVD. Hah... the gym just ain't happening yet...

Me: BEFORE! :)
