Living with a Toddler

Our Wild Man
(Don't worry Moms... Jason was within touching distance!)

We've had quite the weekend.

For most of the weekend, Grayson has been a perfect little angel. He gives random hugs and kisses, says "I love you", "please", and "thank you".

But we've also had our share of fits. "We can't go outside right now Grayson" (insert fit). Grayson plays outside and then gets hot and cranky but refuses to come inside (insert another fit). Grayson needs a new diaper (fit time again). We're really doing our best to correct his behavior, but yall... parenting is tough!!

Then there are times like last night. We went to celebrate my grandma's birthday at Ruby Tuesday's and he sat in his highchair for an hour and a half! He had a great time and the only time he got upset was when the waiter took my uneaten fries away.

So-- don't worry mamas of the world. I don't judge you if your kid is being a little crazy. I've been there, done that and bought the t-shirt....

Two Cute Outfits

This summer, I sold two of Grayson's old smocked outfits on Smocked Resale. Then, I found these on Same Monogram. After everything was said and done, I only paid $5.24 for these adorable outfits.

And with that... Grayson's fall/ winter wardrobe is complete... probably. :)

Fun. Good Day.

I had such a good weekend.

After several weekends of being completely on the go, a weekend with Grayster was exactly what was in order. I would have been better if Jason didn't have to work, but I'm already looking forward to next weekend with all three of us.

Anyway, Saturday morning Grayson and I sat on the couch watching Blue's Clues together. Then we played together for a while. Finally, that little guy said a very true statement: "Fun. Good Day." I couldn't describe it any better.

We went to the zoo with Kaci and Henry, then came back home. Today we've been home all day, playing outside as much as we could.

My last load of laundry is in the dryer, my house is almost clean, and I'm happy. I can't wait for next weekend to come around. :)

Just for fun... some pictures from today:

Grayson Loves Colors

The little guy who lives in our house LOVES to color. This is a recent development for him... just a few days ago he only "liked" to color. Now his new obsession can literally consume hours. Today I came home from work and found out that he had created three masterpieces:

In the process, he has learned almost all of his colors. Although his favorite one to guess is still "RED!", he now knows blue, yellow, green, brown, black, and purple as well. I'm super proud of our Grayster, and I am so blessed to be his mommy. :)

DCI Finals 2011

We went to DCI Finals this past weekend to watch Kelsey's final two shows as a Carolina Crown member! She (and the corps) was fantastic!

As soon as we arrived, we fell in love with our hotel's location... I mean, how more beautiful could this place be?!?!

Close-up of the railing on the bridge.

I just thought this place was gorgeous!
Friday night we went to semi-finals. We sat right off the 50-yard line on the 3rd tow, so I was able to get some close-ups of my sister. She was awesome!

Adam was so fun all weekend!

Our tickets for Saturday night were on the second level, so my shots were not as good, but still very cool!

Finger Painting!!

This morning, Grayson and I began our day by attending the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast at Office Depot. I stocked up on tons of school supplies for this year, and bought Grayson some finger paint. When we got home, he went straight to work.

Switcharoos August 2011

I always think it is fun to see what others get at Switcharoos and to post my finds as well. I had pretty good luck this time around. Kaci and I volunteered (by making/ mailing flyers) so that we could get in on Wednesday evening.

The best things about shopping early are that you can:

1) Get better stuff (more to choose from)
2) Get the stuff that is priced the best (again, better selection)

My own sales are doing well, too! I don't have a final count yet, but I think I'm going to make at least enough to cover what I bought and break even!

Ralph Lauren Polo shirts (notice how the one on the left still has original tags on it!)

Carters Two Piece sets

Carters fleece pajamas

Gymboree stuff

Thomas the train set ($5), toy vacuum ($4), Diaper Genie refills ($2 each), Books ($1 for both),  new potty seats ($4 for both)

AND....

The cutest $5 dragon costume EVER!!
