Dancing Grayster

Yep. It is has been a busy few weeks. AND there are so many stories to tell...

But until then, I'll leave you with some sweet pictures from tonight.

Dancing Grayster

Jason plays, Grayson dances.

He got behind the crib and said, "I be hiding." Yep... we have to work on his grammar, lol.

Cute husband.

Injuries

It has been a few days full of injuries at our house.

SATURDAY

On Saturday evening, Jason called home around 6:00 p.m. to inform me that he was on the way to the emergency room. To make a long story very short, he was kicked by a bad guy and hurt his thumb, lip and nose. We're most concerned about his thumb. The emergency room doctor said that he didn't break anything, but wanted him to get his thumb examined on Monday.

Today the doctor decided that nothing is torn.. YAY!! He just has to keep his thumb wrapped up, and go back every week for the next few weeks to be re-examined. This week he'll been on light duty at work (meaning no regular patrol work).

MONDAY

As I was on my way to class tonight (I'd actually just gotten back in the car from getting my eyebrows done) Jason called. He said I needed to come home because Grayson had hurt his eye. He told me that the cut was worse than when he got hurt around this same time last year. I quickly called the doctor. Our pediatrician's office has late nights (until 7 p.m.) at rotating locations. We had to go to the downtown location, but I was able to get an appointment.

Pitiful...

The doctor's visit was just as you would imagine.... lots of tears, lots of screaming... it just wasn't fun. The doctor told me that we didn't need to glue it, but that the scar would be bigger if we didn't. I chose glue!

On our way home we picked up Grayson's choice of ice-cream and fries. He thinks his boo-boo is already gone and says, "It's okay!"

SO... I'm hoping to stay well and away from the doctor... surely we can make that happen!

FlyLady Update

I've been following Flylady's home (more like LIFE) organization system for an entire month. I can say this... it is really working!!!!

Some new things I've learned:

1) Get a package of paper plates, plastic cups, forks, spoons, etc. to put in your pantry for emergencies. If you're sick and have no energy to clean, use them!! That way you can still have a clean kitchen.

2) You can declutter so much after you start your routines and realize how little you really need. I took 10 towels (plus a bunch of other things) to Goodwill. I just don't need them if I'm washing laundry most every day.

3) Join a support group. Right now I have one on Facebook. I love visiting it every evening. The girls remind each other to "spend 2 minutes on your hotspot" (you know, the area of your home that collects a lot of junk each day... mine is at the bottom of our steps) and to not think negative thoughts. Just two minutes will clean up your hotspot, it is pretty amazing.

4) Develop routines. January's routine was "shine your sink". Basically that means- don't throw your dishes in your sink, lol. February's routine is to declutter for 15 minutes a day. It is amazing how much we hold onto that we really don't need. My home is on a diet!

Switcharoos February 2012

One of my favorite semi-annual events is happening right now in Greenville... Switcharoos!!! I love to see what others find, and I love to document my goodies so that I can look back and see what things I've found over the years. I think I get better and better at this consignment shopping stuff each time I go!!

My past Switcharoos shopping trips were documented here, here, and here.

An Easel for $8

Cute Like New Ralph Lauren Polo Stuff

TONS of super cute summer shorts and sets!

A Star Wars Shirt (who can't love that??), a whale shirt (I <3 whale stuff!) and a Kelly's Kids Fleece for the fall

Dumb Things I've Done Recently

Seriously... lately I've been questioning if I have lost my mind (or at least a big part of it). Here are three of the latest dumb things I've done:

1. Bleached the carpet.  Gordo was sick for a few days. I just wanted my home to be clean... don't do this.

2. Ran over the video monitor's a/c adaptor with the vacuum. Yep, the vacuum chomped this thing to pieces. I had to call and order a $19.99 replacement.

and the dumbest thing I've done recently....

3. Left my car unlocked and running in the Ghetto Wal-Mart's parking lot. I really can't even begin to comprehend how I did this, just know that I did... and I am lucky my car was still there when I returned.
